Why is sworn translation necessary?
In international surrogacy processes, it’s common to deal with a variety of documents, such as:

To ensure there are no setbacks upon returning to Brazil, it’s fundamental that intended parents confirm whether the clinic provided or assisted in obtaining the documents below, of which we mention some essential ones that must be translated by a sworn translator and, when applicable, apostilled:
✓ Child’s birth certificate (sworn translation);
✓ Live birth declaration (DNV), also with sworn translation;
✓ Declaration with notarized signature from the technical director of the clinic, center or human reproduction service, stating that the child was conceived through heterologous assisted reproduction, identifying the beneficiaries (translated by sworn translator); ✓ Commitment agreement signed by the temporary uterus donor, clarifying the filiation issue and waiving parental rights (family power), with notarized signature (also sworn translation);
✓ DNA test proving that the birth mother is not the biological mother (with sworn translation);
✓ Declaration from the clinic or gamete bank confirming that the eggs used are from an anonymous donor, protected by law (with sworn translation).
Additionally, if a power of attorney is made in the name of the birth mother, it must be signed by her with notarized signature. The signature recognition must also be translated by a sworn translator.
